Researching Becoming a Signing Agent in CA

I am a notary public in ca and have been looking into becoming a signing agent. I want to get a better idea of what doing this type of work can build into. Here are some of my questions:

1. How many requests for signings per week did you receive - initially - a few months down the road - ?

2. What is the average net pay made per job?

3. What does it take to get 6-10 signings per week? How long to build it up to that? Is it possible?

Thank you for any helpful information - I appreciate it.

it's really up to you how much you want to make, if you accept edocs you will get more signings, i only accept evening and weekend appointments and drop all my day jobs, i wish i knew somebody that wouldnt mind taking my day jobs, that way- i dont have to cancel any work coming my way, the more you say yes to signings companies, the more they will use u.

i have only sign up with one signing company, and im getting about 4 to 10 signings per month, minus the ones i have to cancel, i get mostly last minute rush signings, im pretty sure if i sign up with more signings companies i would be doing this full time instead of part time but im happy with my situation.

most of my signings are edocs, in which i get pay $75 - $150 per signing, depends if its a first and a second or edocs. Once in a while i will get $50 callers but i always say no to them, the minimum i accept is $75.

the way i figure, i charge $25 per hour, it all depends if its edocs or not, by the time i get the package and review it like 30 minutes, drive to the person house 30 to 60 minutes, signing is like an hour or less depending how many pages is the loan package and how many signers there are, 30 to 60 minutes to take the package to the mail carrier, and 30 to 60 minutes to drive back home, and if i have to print the docs, downloading on my slow internet connection is like 30 minutes, printing like 15 minutes for the two copies. All together it takes me 2 to 4 hours per signing from begining to end.

Anyways heres my email address if you need any further assistance

Does your minimum $75 fee include the edoc printing???!! If so, I think you're not taking into consideration other costs of doing business, such as mileage expenses, materials, insurance, taxes, certification, other fees, advertising, replacement costs of printers, auto, PC, etc., and the list goes on and on. I think $75 for doing a signing, including printing of edocs is pricing yourself way too low. At that rate, your profit is probably closer to minimum wage than $25/ hour. I hope I'm wrong and that I misunderstood your post...

Do you charge an extra fee for edoc printing? Any other extra fees you take into consideration? From reading this forum - how can people charge $40/$50 and get anyone to do it for such a price?
