another reason we seem so harsh

is a thread lower on this page. There is a lady coming out of no where announcing she is opening a signing service. She asks you to forward your info to her. She probably is legit and we wish her well but she has given NO info to legitimize herself, including a web site, phone or even state. BUT, that's not my real point. I quit reading about 1/2 way down the thread. It was like a string of lemmings asking her to contact them, to tell them what info she required, etc. SHE ASKED IN HER ORIGINAL POST FOR YOU TO SEND HER INFO. Please open your eyes folks. She asked you to contact her. We assume she is quite busy and would like to take the info sent to her and enter it into her data base, not spend her time contacting people telling them to send their info. People, you should know what info to send. If you miss something specific she wants or needs we assume she will let you know. You must take some initiative if you want to be successful.

There You Go Again, Sue!

Making sense! You sound like you've made a dollar or two in this business. ;)

BTW. how's the Armada treating you this winter?

Re: There You Go Again, Sue!

I've actually made '$5 or $10'. (need one of those smiley faces here)

I sent you an e-mail about the car.

I was contacted by a company in Fl. Same thing as the lady mentioned above. But first they had a small signing in my area. I took a chance. The young ladies talked sincere. I did the signing. Sent them basic information about myself, and waited to be paid. I waited to long when I went to check on the over due invoice all the telephones were disconnected. They made their money and ran. A lesson learned. Be wise enough to stick to the agents that have a honest reputation and your reputation will stay honest. We are in the truth business and I guess there are some that don't know how to handle the truth and honesty. Shame on those dishonest people that take advantage of honest folk.

Sue,

I agree... I would not send my information out from reading that posting. Idenity Theft is a big problem and the information we send these companies i.e; social numbers and other private information could cause you to have big problems if a service turned out to be a scam. Besides she does not sound like the sharpest tool in the shed... These signing services get a chunck of our fee because they are marketing for the business. Everyone should be asking how many clients they service, how long they have been in business and what are their numbers in regards to loans signings they get a week or month in your area. There are over 1,800 signing services listed on the NNA web site... Just like some of the signing services (i.e; Nations Direct) think we notaries are a dime a dozen so have they become.

In this thread it was said to stick to SS you know. That sure doesn't help expand the business.
Everyone you work for you had a first signing. Sometimes you take a chance. It is impossible to check up on a SS before accepting an assignment when you get the call 40 miles from your computer while driving.
Keep reading the board and, with luck, you'll remember the SS name from your readings.
