It is the notary book that you can get from the Secretary of State website. It is a little blue book that has all the California laws for notaries. I also have the 2005 California notary Law Primer Book from NNA that is just as useful.

I have the 2005 California Primary book also. I'll be referring to it when it's time to renew my commission in Dec.

Go to the Calif Sec. of State Website click on the notary section and download the 2005 handbook. Always carry it with you in your briefcase. It is written in language we can all understand and it will help you over and over again in your profession as a notary

The NNA Primer is NOT always right!
I would stick with the ORANGE 2005 Handbook and since it can be downloaded using PDF for FREE, there's no excuse for any California notary public NOT to have one for direct reference. I like the NNA Primer BUT you have to be aware that it is the NNA INTERPRETATION and it is not always right. Good luck

Re: The NNA Primer is NOT always right!
I was not aware of it, that is what I had studied the first time I earned my commission and I passed with a high score. I will however download the PDF file.
Thank you.
