Marriage

Can I notarize a marriage, not a confidential one, just a normal one to a friend? Help

Jasmine, Maybe you are in a state that is so different from mine that I cannot figure this post out. Can you re-state this?

Jasmine,
Being as you mentioned "confidential marriage" I am assuming you are in CA.
I believe you can get special permission to perform the ceremony for your friend.
Someone from CA should be able to clarify this.

Jasmine: I am assuming you are from California since you mentioned a Confidential Marriage. If I understand your question, do you want to notarize the actual document, a marriage certificate for your friend?? If so, Jasmine remember that you cannot certify or notarize that document, however, if your customer/the signer wants to make a statement about the validity (or whatever) of that document, you can notarize that statement. If your friend needs a certified copy of their marriage certificate, then they'll have to get with the County Recorder.
If you want to perform the marriage, go to www.ulc.org and become a minister.
