Personal Info Reguested by SS's

Some Signing Services are asking Notaries to fax DL# SS# Evidence of Car Insurance etc is this a normal procedure.

Many ask but I don't provide You do have to fill out a w-9 which has the social security number unless you become a company and get a tax ID that's what I did.
As an independent you don't have to provice the other info.

Tax ID

You don't need to create a company just to get an EIN.
I would strongly recommend that anyone in our business gets their own EIN as we all share so much information with so many companies.
You may get one on line or with a phone call and have your number within minutes.
Please don't give out your SS# unnecessarily.

I finally applied online for an EIN yesterday. I had it within minutes. Go to IRS website and search for form SS-4. Easy Breezy! ;)
