Without more info in your question my reply would be this:
If your doing a purchase it has to be having title work done wouldn't you say? so wouldn't you charge what you charge title companies? The borrower just has to inform the title company that you are doing the closing and your fee will be listed on the HUD.

now I dont know about CA, but in OK, if you are doing this for the individule you can only charge $5.00 per signature needing notarized and a reasonable trip charge. The fees must also be agreed upon before the transaction takes place.

I recently did a purchase loan for a borrower in CA. It was arranged through the Loan Officer (who found me on Notary Rotary, btw!). I charged $125. It was 24 miles each way and on a Saturday.
