Registry Mechanic O/T

In case any of you have a software product called Registry Mechanic, I would like to pass on a small piece of advice.

I have used this for about 6 months. It does well in cleaning the registry With programs being used there can be a real slow down due to windows registry commands be corrupted, etc.

The program has worked great for me until I saw a little button saying "compact registry", that button will analyze your registry and tell you how much space you will save thereby making your computer faster. If you have the program, DO NOT PRESS THAT BUTTON! I did and ended up making my windows xp dysfunctional, lost my e-mails, etc. Ended up reformatting my hard drive and reloading windows. Live and learn!
