I am with Western Surety. $100,000 was around $560 for 3 years. I believe they are in Florida. You should be able to find on the internet. I don't have the stuff right in front of me.

Alas, Western Surety won't sell to us directly; we have to go through an agent.

I did not go thru an agent. My mentor turned me on to them and as far as I know he did not intercede in any way, just gave me a phone number. Since when is an agent required. I have (800) 821-0831, Tallahaaee, FL, Jack Diestelhorst, President or Yolanda Jackson, project manager. If Ernest is right it has changed from 2 years ago. Good luck.

The E & O through the NNA is written by Western Surety. I guess you can check who gives you the best price, NNA or an agent. Let us know how the prices differ if any.

I am an insurance agent as well as a loan doc signer. FYI, the premium for the E&O will vary by state. Also, generally, you need to go through an agent--but Western Surety does make a program available to entities that would be able to write many bonds for them.

So possibly the variation in Mary Elenea's fee and mine has to do with the staes we are in. I am in NY don't know where she is. As usual everything in NY is expensive.

That is correct. NY has a higher rate per year than say Florida. So the cost varies from state to state.
