Chase Split Closing

I have a closing tonight for Chase. One set of paperwork is being sent via Federal Express and one by UPS. I've never done one of these types of closings before. Anything I need to be aware of? Thanks.

Do you mean that you will be splitting the package back via Fed Ex and UPS? Typically you'll need to have borrower sign 3 orginals of the mortgage. You send 2 to title co and one back to lender (or vice versa). You'll also copy the HUD and send the original to Chase and a copy of the TC. It's fairly simple, you just need to pay attention to the TC instructions on which forms to send to them (typically all the title docs) and which to send to the lender.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your help. After all these years of doing notarizations, I still get nervous beforehand because I'm so afraid I might miss something or not do it correctly.

I just had one yesterday... never had it before. Certain docs were to be sent to the lender and certain docs were to be sent to the title company. 1 set of docs split in 2. Hope this isnt a new thing because it sure was a pain in the butt. Not only did I have to split the packet, but the title company required that I make copies of certain original docs that were in the lenders return packet and the lender required that I copy original docs that were to sent to the title company. I was Not told of this when I was contracted by the service until I got the closing instructions printed. Definately worth an additional fee.

I just encountered this as well with a notary that I am mentoring. Seems like the SS are having us do some of their work. Extra fee . . . definitely!

Hmmm... I've done several in the past few weeks. I've only had to make 3 originals of the mortgage and copy the HUD for the title company. Splitting the package was easy, as I always re-check for signatures and dates a third time, I just turned the pages over in two separate piles - one for Chase and the other for TC. I have another one tonight - given by a different signing service. If there are any other instructions, I'll let you know.

I just received the documents. I've never seen so many instructions on so many pages. One person wants faxed copies of two or three documents, another wants several documents faxed, another urgent page says to ignore the instructions and do what is stated on that page!! Very confusing!
