CitiBank/NASCO
I have my first tomorrow. I am slightly nervous because I want to make sure I do this right because of their great reputation. The girl that called me was very nice to say the least and I was impressed with her actually answering my questions until I understood instead of the normal rush attitude I get with some signing agencies. The only downfall of this whole situation is when I called the borrowers, she didnt have a clue what was going on. She claimed their MO wasnt returning her phone calls and she had a zillion questions to be answered. I reassured her of their RTC, and told her to write down all her questions within that time period and call him and get them aswered. Did I go out of my boundries by doing this? She was asking me questions before she even had a chance to see the papers, and I didnt feel it was right for me to go over the docs over the phone. Enough said. If anyone has any suggestions or comments on these particular packages, please feel free to disclose. And to Brenda and others of the joke line, if you read this, those were good ones!!(Your jokes). And to Hugh: Yes honey, we do need you. Your wit and humor is well appreciated, at least by me and Im sure quite a few others.

I don't think so. I think you did exactly right!

Did she receive the docs directly from the lender? How much time did/will elapse between your phone call with the borrower and your actual face to face appointment?

Sam,
A comment on *Did she receive the docs directly from the lender? How much time did/will elapse between your phone call with the borrower and your actual face to face appointment?*
Some of my longest signings are the ones where the bwrs have received their docs ahead of time and have not bothered to look at their copies, much less get their LO on the phone and ask questions.
Pardon me while I digress....
Today I had one that was a good ways down the road into a rural county...they HAD looked at their docs and just wanted to zip through the signing. I was in and out in 30 minutes. It was on a small ranch. Got to the ranch gate. It was a huge black pipe gate elaborately decorated and actually quite attractive as far as ranch gates go. It was closed. I called the bwr to ask if they controlled it from the house.
"No," the Missus said. "Just push it open." (Hmmm...JUST push it open.) Well...I hopped out of my car in my suit and black patent leather pumps with 3 1/2" heels and carefully crossed the cattle guard. (BTW, if you don't know what a cattle guard is, it is a contraption of pipes laid across a shallow pit so that if a cow tries to cross it they can't because their hooves will fall between the pipe.)
It took all of my weight to push that gate open. Fortunately, they did not mind if I left it standing open so I could just leave without doing the same again. It was another quarter of a mile up to the house. This was after two and a half miles on a Grimes County road which I had only been able to travel at about 15 miles per hour. I was just happy it had not been raining because it was a signing that would not have taken place if there had been a good Central Texas storm.
Nothing like traveling the backroads of Texas...no other job I have had would have seen me flailing my arms to balance myself while crossing a cattle guard in heels.
Who'd have thought it. It's just standard operating procedure in the day of an NSA covering the "Heart of Texas."
I love this job.

Lisa from WI, you said this was your first signing. First siging with NASCO or first signing period? I tired to sign up with them last week, and the lady who resonded back to me said I had to have two years experience with loan signings before they would put me on their list.

Brenda - didn't I ever mention that I used to live in Texas? I never could get used to how far apart everything was.
I was just thinking - if the borrower had the docs and was freaking out - that it would be better to just delay the signing until the borrower could get the LO to actually return their phone calls. Of course the SS would probably disagree with my idea.

Maybe it's just here, but every NASCO Citibank I've done...
was either at the Broker's office, or the LO was present-which is annoying I might add.

I've lost count of how many Citi HELOCs I have done and only once, did the signing take place with the broker. It was actually at the broker's office, and he left the room so I could spread my mystical HELOC spell over the signers.
I've done many signings with the broker present, and only a few were annoying. Most just keep their mouth sort-of shut.

Citibank relies on their title companies for signing agents. NASCO is one of them Citi does use other title companies, and some of those companies use signing service agencies.
But, if you want Citi's website, it's http://www.Citibank.com.
