Commission Numbers
I just got my commission card here in the State of Michigan and found there was no commission number. I called the state agency and asked about it. I was told that numbers are no longer issued. Has anyone else heard of this?

Some states don't even use commission numbers....
Yeah. I've heard of it.
My state doesn't even issue commission numbers only commission certificates and ID cards.
I actually never heard of a commission number until I came onto this forum.

Thank you for your response. With most supplier sites having stamps with a spot for the commission number, now I'll have to do some further inquiry into the set up.

Hi Becky,
I really wouldn't worry about it. I have been a notary in Michigan for about a year (this time around) and to my knowledge never have had a commission number. And yes I have seen loads of notarization pages where there is a slot for a commission number. I just put down N/A (for non applicable). Never have had a response to this course of action.
Also when you post you might want to indicate you are from Michigan (as I have). Often queries require state-specific responses.

Washington state doesn't have commission numbers. The Dept. of Licensing just issues a certificate.
