Confirmation w/NO FEE!
This ss sent me a confirmation without the agreed-upon fee listed. I did the signing anyway and have repeatedly called and e-mailed for them to send me another confirmation showing the fee. Once the secretary assured me that she had sent one to me, but when I checked, she had just re-sent the first confirmation sans fee. What is WRONG with them?!

Not necessarily, Roger
For whatever reason, Bankserv does not put fee on conf Never had a problem being paid what we had agreed to If it makes you feel better, write your agreed fee on the conf and fax back to them prior to the signing. Never done it, but don't think that they would have a problem with your doing that.

Re: Not necessarily, Roger
One reason companies do not include your fee on the confirmation is because the form was created from their client side and they do not want the client to know what they are paying us.

I think most services will have a two fold confirmation... one for the clients, with the client specific info, and one for the notary, with the notary specific info.

I see what the experienced ones are saying... but... it is simply good business practice to "put it in writing". If the fee is written in black and white, there can be no confusion, arguments, misunderstandings or shorted fee on anyone's part.

No confirmation with fee listed, ...
... no edocs printed, no leaving driveway. The only exception I'll make is if I have spoken with the business owner directly and feel I can trust that person's word (who know who you are!).

Re: No confirmation with fee listed, ...
As also being a licensed Private Investigator and a licensed Collection Agency i would like to add a little to this topic. Your Confirmation Sheet is very important to collect a default in payment in the event that you should end up in Small Claims Court without this document it will turn into a he said, she said, they said ordeal. As the Judge has no idea what a SA charges or what a SS pays. So it is just good business to always get this. Just my 1 cent worth.

You should have called the SS about the missing fee *before* doing the signing, and not left the house until you got a confirmation with the fee listed.

Re: Confirmation w/NO FEE! Situation RESOLVED....
I already said that I had called a FEW times and the lady kept PROMISING to send me an updated confirmation but didn't. Finally tho, with my 2nd e-mail to her, she did send me one that SHOWED the fee. This is the ONLY time this ever happened, but like most of the others who posted here, I think it's A BIG NECESSARY PROFESSIONAL PART of the confirmation. Thanks for all the responses.
