Do I need to sign as witness on the Note?
I did my research about the Note and found out that 99% does not require notarization..but what about the need to sign as a witness ? Last pages says
Witness the hand(s) and seal(s) of the undersigned. __________(seal) __________(seal)
Should I sign below the lines where the borrowers sign ? Example :
John Smith, notary public, witness ? Any comments ? Thanks !

I agree that those look like just the lines for the borrowers, but FYI, I do signings for some lenders that DO want me to witness the note, even though California is not a witness state. The witness signature lines are generally set apart from the borrowers. However, I don't sign as a witness unless I've been instructed to. (Never hurts to ask your contact to be sure...)
Also, in Calfornia, we're not allowed to use our title for anything other than a notarial act, which I think is a good idea. Where a title is required from me on a non-notarized doc, I use "signing agent", but otherwise, I'd just sign my name only.
