Enough

To whoever felt the need to falsely post a response to message 45636 in my name, thanks for a real eye opener. I don't think you and the others who were so mean are the kind of people I wish to interact with. I don't think this line of work is for me. I don't have that mean streak that you all have. I am not ready to stab someone in the back and belittle them afterward. So what, I accepted lower fees. If you people spent less time on the board bellyaching maybe you could get work too. I can't think of one nice person I've run across in this business. I think you are all a bunch of catty women. You people live with constant PMS. You are all jealous and vicious hateful people. You deserve what you get. I think I will find another career.

Lighten up grasshopper. No one is making this personal - it's just business. You need a thick skin in this line of work. Perhaps the universe is trying to teach you something. A fool listens to advice a wise man profits from it. Meditate on that - Ohhmmm.........

If anyone really looked at those messages, they could see that the initial response posted by "Candy" at 5:07pm, was not you - different IP address.

There are a lot of nice people in this business, I have met them over the past 5 years, but you will always get those that are not so nice.

Just learn to ignore them.

Whatever you accept for fees is your business and no-one elses. You know what you need to charge to make a profit.

But, a little word of advice, if you take it in the spirit it is given.

If you are new, then $50 for a signing is OK - as long as you don't go more than 20 miles from your "base". That is a 40 mile RT. Take the 40 miles and multiply $1.25 by the 40, and you will see it comes to $50.
So, use 40 miles RT and $50 as a base and figure out $1.25 for each extra mile rounded up to the nearest $5.

When you have more experience, raise your fee. You will have deserved a raise.

As I said, that is just a little word of advice, it is up to you whether you want to take it or not.

Someone posted as a Liz also, and it was not me. Candy, I think you should do what makes you happy. That is really all that matters!

Candy-charge what works for you with words of advice

Candy
After I saw your post I searched all of the your posts and the responses to them as I did wonder what had happened to cause such a post filled with emotion and anger on your part. I did see one post in a response to one of your posts that was deleted as it was determined it was vulgar. That is a rare occurrence here and one that is not supported by this community at large. Besides that I didn't see anything at all that was hateful directed towards you. Nor did I see you treated as a "boob" Disagreeing on what one should charge for a product/service is an everyday occurrence in the open market. It happens with every product/service that is out there. Big Deal.

Everyone here assumes they know another's situations and assumes they know what is better for them too. Almost everything people do is in some sense self servicng othewrwise why would someone really care what Candy's fees are. A lot of people can print docs for free (someone else paying the bill) and because of that they don't need what others feel they need for print charges. It is your business with your business plan so why would you let another influence how you run your business? If you choose to take lower paying assignments sometime, that is your business and keep it that way. Build a fee schedule that is acceptable to you and don't share it if you don't want to. You think Ford calls GM and tells them how they are going to price the new Explorer?

Regarding the "if you accept that amount, you are killing the industry" mindset.------------------It humors me that some think the small community of notaries that post here can drive the market. A small bunch thinking they will drive the supply/demand of such a product that is sold thousands a times a day by millions of companies, don't you wish. It is arrogant for any of us to think that members of this group can dictate pricing. Don't give me the "well we have to start somewhere". It isn't going to happen. If you need to work and you can see profit accepting what others in this micro unit of the industry of mobile closing see as a low fee, take care of yourself and your family number one. Who cares, it is your reflection in the mirror not those of posters here.

Now for you comments--wow--nasty, nasty, nasty. Unwarranted. I saw your post about originating and I am an originator with a heck of a lot of experience and a huge network of professionals. I was thinking of finding out about you and assisting you towards the right direction. I must say that I feel strange about that. After

"If you people spent less time on the board bellyaching maybe you could get work too. I can't think of one nice person I've run across in this business. I think you are all a bunch of catty women. Candy obviously someone upset you and I don't know what they said but don't throw the gold out with the trash. Don't let whoever was nasty to you affect your life and your plan for success. Don't throw anyway an opportunity to build a small business away because some has a potty mouth coupled with a pissy attitude. That gives someone way too much power over you. Don't let some vulgar loser poster dictate the way you feel about a whole community. __ Imagine what would have happen in Modesto if everyone did that. There are some great people here who know a heck of a lot that can be a great asset to you. Make your amends to them (regarding your grouping all in a pot from the above) and soak their knowledge in. Say your peace, get your contact info out there and move on

Best Regards,

Michelle

Re: Enough-Candy allow me to help you if I can.

Candy I understand your comments, but not all the posters are the way you describe. I too had someone on the board last week, place my name in her post, accusing me of sending certain post that I never sent. I have now resorted to sometimes using my name and other times posting anonymous simply because I would like to think when signing services may be on this board for whatever reason, they don't place my name with some of the playground nonsense that appears. Soon after I decided to do this I of course was bashed for using anonymous and how annoyed others get when one post anonymous, you are called gutless for posting anonymous and other name calling as well. I do enjoy the board for helpful information, there is indeed some very smart folks onboard. The ones who bash and trash, feed their egos all the while, and then the ones that must concur with those bashers perhaps because they don't want to be left to play alone, quickly tag right behind the big offenders.
I've been accused of being starry eyed, living in a dream world, unrealistic in my business approach. The list continues on. I know very well and quite clearly who I am, I handle my business, my fees, my acceptance of work orders how I see fit. Opinions the bashers suggest, I could care less. I'm a happy person, I have a good life and folks who care.
Oops didn't mean to make this too personal but my point is, stay strong.
