Fees to join services

I have noticed a few "process fees" on some signing service websites.
I did send GAC $$ for a background check because they are a reputable company imo. Anyone have a good experience with any of these other companies that ask for a "fee".

Why pay someone to get "maybe" get work from them? With the profit margin they make from SA's efforts, they can well afford to pay for any back ground check they think they require.

I do searches for GAC, have for years, I do have "personal" experience with this company and really do not mind paying for the background check, it is the others that I do not have any experience with that I am wanting info on. Thanks!

Chris, when you say you do searches for GAC, what do you mean by searches? Is this something that the rest of us can do for other companies and if so, can you tell us how it all works and the pay structure? Thanks!
