Thanks for your thoughts! I live just north of Pensacola and was supposed to be leaving on vacation today....I'm still here. We are going to leave after we have a better idea on the storm track or after it has passed. Sorry way to start a vacation I must say.

It's looking.....wet. Ugh - it took me 1 1/2 hours to get back home from an appointment this afternoon due to the rain (should have only taken 45 minutes).

Pretty soggy here. I just hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Well, I just got back from Key Largo. I went down yesterday and it rained and rained. Went to perform a wedding, bride wanted wedding on the beach at the Marriott. But it looked like it was really going to be bad and we made alternative arrangements, but there was a break in the weather and we did have the wedding on the beach.

Strange thing while we were there. We stayed at the Marriott. Lovely rooms, although the beds were way too high. I have RA and move with some difficulty. Had to drag a chair to the bed so I could get up on it.
But, there were two beds in the room. When we came back to the room after the wedding, one of the beds was soaked. Have no idea how it got that way. It was not near a window and there didn't appear to be any roof leaks - although we were on the 2nd floor and there were two floors above us, so no way water could get in through the ceiling.
Also, my pocket book was soaked, everything in it was wet through. Had to throw a lot of my make-up away as it was ruined. My husband went down and let them know at the front desk and they said not to worry about it!!!!

Re: Hey Florida...speaking of weddings...

Can you suggest a good source for the wording used in the wedding ceremonies? I looked on the website from the Universal Life Church - but I'm not sure if I'd be getting my money's worth for their wedding package.

I'm sorry your little trip turned bad do to weather and the hotel. I wonder if the fire sprinkler was leaking. I hope the motel compensated you for your ruined items.

I wondered about the fire sprinkler too.
When my husband went down to the front desk to tell them of the bed being soaked, we didn't know at that time that my pocket book was also soaked. But as they just shrugged their shoulders and said not to worry about it about the bed, I doubt they would have done anything about the items in my pocket book. My checkbooks were wet through, everything in there was soaked. I could rescue the checkbooks, they eventually dry out. But the make up I can't do anything with, had to throw it away.

But, the wedding was beautiful! And that is what mattered the most.
