I'll have an EDOC for the road
I cover about a 40 mile radius of my home. Has anyone found a way to work with trying to hold down a schedule and get Edoc's printed and get to a closing. The title company never gets the docs to you until about 2 hours (sometimes less) and it seems like I am waiting around for the title company to get the docs to me when I don't have an appointment and I have my husband working my edocs when I'm out at an appointment.
Is there a better way and I just don't know what it is? Any suggestion would be GREATLY appreciated.

Have laptop, printer & stamp, will travel. I've printed docs at the borrowers home. I do charge more for the edocs if they can't get them to me by my "in-house" deadline.

You have printed at the borrowers house?
You keep your printer in your car and print at their house? Amazing. I would never have thought to do that. Is it your routine to print at their house? What is your deadline and what if they don't make it? I get calls a lot and I am 45 minutes from home to do a signing in 3 hours down the street from where I am. I hate to drive home to print.

WONDERFUL IDEA!!!
It just never occurred to me. Did not want to intrude or put the borrower out. Anyone else with any idea like this? Becca FL anything else you can share?

Re: WONDERFUL IDEA!!!
Yes - Have two printers. Always have a plan B. I also have friends in surrounding counties that I can drop in on to use their electic, phone & bathroom. We don't have Kinkos here in my neck of the woods. Be flexible, but don't be a push over.

I love it. I have Kinkos but everything with them is such a hassle.

Re: WONDERFUL IDEA!!!
Could be bad news, depending if the borrowers have dial-up or DSL. In my area dial-up sometimes takes nearly and hour to down load a set of docs.

Agree with Jenni's Warning ...
Many of the homes I go to
1. Do NOT have a home PC or internet connection. 2. If they have a connection, it is dial up. 3. The "home" PC is in their bedroom ... I REALLY do not want to go into strangers' bedrooms and I don't think they want me there either. 4. Do not have a LASER printer ... a color ink jet. I do not plan to carry a laser printer in my car TO CONVENIENCE the document preparer. Personally, I think this ability ENCOURAGES them to continue producing Edocs late or at the last minute. This is obviously an excellent option for those mobile NSAs that are receiving $150-250 per assignment. That fee makes it worthwhile to have a second set of portable hardward and dupllicate software and supplies in your car (plus any additional licensing fees and business property insurance coverage if the hardware and software [including other people's confidential data] is stolen). 5. Do not have legal size paper. Carry that, too, and an extra toner cartridge.
Good for some, but I do not plan to spend the extra money for equipment so that Edocument preparers can continue to send Edocs 5 minutes prior to a 30-minute drive or "...just drive to the borrower's home and the documents will be in your Emailbox when you arrive." Yeh, right ... and if they are not in my mailbox when I arrive ... or the borrower's dial-up is dead slow, I sit at Borrower A's home waiting for Edocs while calling Borrower B (through a different lender and scheduler) to tell them I am rescheduling their appointment because Borrower A's documents are late.

Interesting Point
That's a good point. So you were able to see the loop hole in her solution. What do you do in this situation?
