J.G. Wentworth

Just wanted to get another blast out to everyone about J.G. Wentworth. We did a transactions with the in February and I have worked on getting payment for it since that time. I have about 5 hours of my time invested in collecting and finally today I got a hold of a supervisor who told me that they were not going to pay us because the file had already been closed. It didn't matter that I had faxed an invoice to Wentworth every month since the work was done. They were not going to pay. I just want everyone to see another posting that puts negative information out there about J.G. Wentworth. Don't do work for them unless you work for free.

Thanks!

They are THIEVES! I was suckered into doing one for them in Feb. I just write it off to experience. Hopefully others will learn form our bad experience, and not work for them.

Me too -- Lost a chunk-o-change --- learned my lesson. It would have been saaaweet if I got paid. Yikes... about a zillion hours trying to collect = deal deal. I AM taking them to small claims court -- got the deal/agreement in writing (email). Not sure who to sue but will report back. ox :(

How can you close a file if you owe people some money?

It will very easy for everybody to just close the damn file to whoever you owe to.

Refused two the past week. I think it's great to keep tell the story on these guys...thank you so much for making me aware of them Not Rot posters. I'd be pretty mad at losing a couple of hundred.

It's not so bad losing the money, it's to whom we lost it to! Scum! Their entire operation is based on cheating everyone they can. They should be shut down, I really think this may come under "mail fraud" I' trying to get the time to look into it.

This is very interesting. If anyone knows what Les means by the mail fraud slant, please do tell...

You should all get together and start a class action against them.

Here is a blurb on JGW I found at

After seeing one of the packages they sent me to do (but would not confirm that THEY would pay my fee in a certain amount, so I refused it.) ... I muse an UNEDUCATED guess that if they really intended to pay the notary they could make it part of the settlement order to be signed by the judge. [This is in the case of certain types of settlements such as the one I saw].

If they wanted to make sure the notary got their fee, in Texas they could *maybe* include as part of the order that $100 in courier/notary fees be paid to Sally J. Notary.

The use of U S mail or interstate wire service (Telephone, Fax) to perpetrate a fraud is a criminal offense. If there is a repeated use of the U S mail or wire service for this purpose, it can result in civil and criminal RICO actions.

Re: J.G. Wentworth - Just turned my 3rd down in 10 days.

I talked to a woman this time. I told her I don't do Wentworth because they want me to believe they will pay me, but the truth is I am supposed to ding the signer for it.

I don't do that kind of business I told her. You hire, you confirm in writing that you are responsible for my fee, then you pay.

Oh. We don't do that. Our client pays. You don't want our business?

--No...I know how you want me to believe it works, but it doesn't....And, furthermore, you owe a notary named Sylvia in Florida.

Huh?

--Yeah, settle up with Sylvia then call me.

Huh?

--I laughed and hung up.
