Laser Jet Printers
What is the best and least expensive printer to use for edocs? Any suggestion would be extremely helpful.

Stoneware H&C-1. That's a version one hammer and chisel. Of course, the docs would arrive in tablet form, usually made of granite or other solid rock. Once the signatures are carved and seals applied, the docs will last in perpetuity.
Seriously, the 'best' and 'least expensive' may be diametrical terms. The 'best' printer is also a very subjective qualification, while 'least expensive' can be mathematically obtained.
My personal recommendation of what I consider the 'best' certainly isn't the 'lease expensive'. I recommend an HP Laserjet 1300. Though HP no longer makes them, they are still available on the secondary market, e.g. ebay, and occasionally through HP's refurbished printer outlet. For a tad bit more moolah, there's the HP Laserjet 1320tn. For a brand spanking new model, that's what I would suggest.
Others will probably voice their opinions as to what is the 'best' and you certainly can do your own searches on the web to find the 'least expensive' printer for edocs. Just remember that the printer must be a laser printer, support PCL6 and should have two input trays to handle letter as well as legal size paper in the same printing run. (Though two trays are not a widespread requirement, I have noticed more and more title companies requesting dual tray capability.)

Do a search, you'll find alot of info. the 2 people seem to like the most are hp and brother. a must is one with pcl6 Brother is less expensive and seems to have easier support, but hp came up with the pcl6 stuff and some people really like that.

The best laser printer is the one at Kinko's.

I understand the concern for budget, but I do not believe a laser printer is the best place to be conservative. You want something that will last and be able to handle the work load you develop.

I think it depends upon which companies you end up working for most. For me, I do MANY more Edocs than delivered. Which is why it is important to have a good, reliable printer. Nothing is more frustrating than having trouble with your printer at the last minute. And many companies send their docs at the last minute!
