MD closings-Do they need a witness?

I'm doing a closing in half an hour for a property in Maryland--borrowers in Minnesota. Do these closings need require a witness? The SS is not open yet (CA), so can't ask them. TIA

As far as I know, MD is not a witness state. However, the lender or title company may require witnesses. Without any instructions to the contrary, I suggest that witnesses are not needed.

Make sure you do NOT notarize the "affidavid of consideration" which is usually on the last page of the DOT. Its unique to MD. Lender signs and gets notarized.
IF they combine notarizing borrowers sigs and the AOC into one block, cross out the section refering to " agent of the secured..."
