Re: Why don't you visit

Yes, or someone like her. Personaly I think becoming a SA should involve a 2 yr apprenticeship or a 2000 hr experience requirement, not unlike the training licence requirement of RE Appraisors. There are already too many newly minted notaries out there ruining the proffession. IMHO

Re: Did you get them?

I sent you my entire client/contact list, as well as all my account numbers (checking account, social security, drivers license) -- did you get them?

BIG HINT: THE REPLIES ARE SARCASM

The replies you have recieved are sarcasm. The authors are basically telling you that they are not going to hold your hands through this process. There is also an insinuation that you are lazy and are not looking up the information for yourself. Also, we are all in business as independent contractors and to guide you (unless this was Amway) would be a waste of time and energy.

Please use the search function and look for Brendatx recommended search for newbies.

I am a newbie too so I am not going for the obvious bashing. Also do a search for all of the " I am a new SA and...." You will begin to understand why the oldies get so frustrated.

1. Made sure I had the proper equipment:

High quality PC
Laser printer
Fax machine

2. Inventory of supplies:

Paper - letter & legal
Extra Toner cartridges

Pens
black & blue ones

Binder clips & Paper clips.
File folders
***Business cards
3. Knowledge of the industry - how much hard work it was going to take to be successful.
***Once I felt I had everything in place, I started signing up with numerous companies.

------> I created an excel spreadsheet to track the income & expenses of my business.
That's about it...I did alot of networking with other signing agents, I visited & READ message boards for Signing Agents. I continued to learn as much as I could in my own way, on my own.

Re: Owning your own buisness...and...

A poster on most message boards emailed me a list of companies to contact - although I've had that list for a very long time, I haven't had to utilize the list.
You see, I did so much marketing, I was receiving calls for assignments early on.

Re: Owning your own business

I am in the process to start a new business with my son. Go figur!!!! we had to do a lot of research, spend money on getting access to info, and we will also have to do a lot of leg work.
Such is life when self employed. Nothing is easy, and nothing is for free.

The key word here is OWN, indicating that it would be your personal property. Why, then would you expect everyone else to set up your *OWN* business. Key word YOUR. C'mon..not trying to be nasty, but realize that those people who are successful at their OWN business are so because of their OWN efforts. Get with it !!! Research, research research...all your answers are only a couple of clicks away.....read and retain....print out those diamonds of info and remember....you will retain MUCH more info if you gather it yourself as opposed to our GIVING it to you! (I assume your too old for potty training)
