Part time vs fulltime
How many do this business part time. Or who has another job. I am trying to decide whether to go full time or not. I have been keeping a log of the jobs I can't take bc they are during the day or afternoon. I it has been quite a bit. My dilema is health insuranse. What are your thoughts on this?

Health insurance is a huge issue with me as well... I think I would give serious thought to going full time if that were not the case... I am a Quality Coordinator/ Document Control Specialist for a medical device manufacture full time.

I work for an attorney full time as a Paralegal from my home office. There is no way I could quit as I can't even qualify the offers that I get for signings as part time. It looks like I will be working as a Paralegal for a long time to come.

I do this part-time. I work at a University and I would never give up my benefits and retirement.

I am a full time Paralegal. I think I am a NSA full time too, but it's suppose to be part time. I get between 20-30 sigings a month. Some may consider that part time, but I think I am considering it full time. But I love it!!! Brenda: "I love it"... Have you heard that before!!! LOL. There I go again!!!

If you can survive on a profit of $500 a month for a year or more, I'd say go for it full-time, if the business is anywhere like Texas. Maybe at two years you might start to show a really decent profit. It just depends on your NSA saturation vs. opportunity.
Make a visit to the local courthouse to find out how many DOTs/refis etc. there are per month/year.
After that crunch the numbers based on how many NSAs there are in your county. Then you have to figure out how to get a share of that market *IF* it is there.
Look at it like this...if you are a car sales person and there are 10000 new cars in your county sold every year, and there are already 25 sales persons getting 400 of those each year...how will you cut into that to make it 26 sales person getting 385 -/+ of those sales?
There are only so many jobs to go around.
Analyzing your market is key BEFORE you get into the business.

Same here, I work full time also. Benefits main concern. I would love to leave the corporate world, but not enough in the notary business.

I have been self-employed for 12 years, I too worried in the beginning. I do not have health insurance, one day soon I keep thinking!! I spend approx 5000-6000 on med bills, about the same as if I had to pay for insurance, so far I have been lucky. I search titles, recently became a signing agent. Only you know what you are capable of doing, think it over and over and over. lol Good Luck, I remember how scary the "jump" was for me!
