Sign on the X

BEWARE
I did an e-docs signing for SOX, which part of the fee ($20) was approved by the lender. SOX absolutely refuses to pay me the additional $20. They will only pay me $65 for the signing. I had to print 2 sets of docs because the borrower resheduled the appt. day. I tried to get approval for the $20, but nobody returned my phone calls. I still have not got paid for a signing I did in April or May. I refuse to sign for them. They are the WORST signing service to collect your $$$ from.

I have also completed several signings for Sign On The X and it took me up to six months to collect my pay. They are very slow in pay and you have to hound them to get your money.

I have news for both of you. This is OLD News!!!!

Now that you have found the board, use it. Search the old posts and you will find the Cos with the bad reps. Remember that there are always two sides to every story. Don't fully rely on a so called "no-no" list. Make your choices wisely and you may gain a good client. Then again, if you get burned, you were warned.

Is there anyone that has had any good experience with them? They just called me to do a signing and I turned them down. Told them only with prepayment I'd do it. She said they can't do that and that they have a bad rep because notaries complain about not getting paid but it is because they make errors and it is not them. I'm not willing to take a chance. Funny though. I'm the only notary that covers my county. They may have a hard time finding someone.

That's not true about the error a notary makes causing a delay in their payment. I have done signings for them, error free and still have to hound them for my $$$.

SOX is still out there. I almost don't mind them calling because it's so much fun to lay the smack down on 'em. Anyway they say they have a new accounting dept and past payment problems have been solved. I say fine send a check with the docs & I'll take the signing. "Um... no we cant do that we dont get payed till the loan closes..." You're not comfortable taking a risk but you expect me to - no thanks I only work with co's I can trust. Thankfully there are still some good ss's out there. If sox would take me up on my offer that would show me they're serious about cleaning up their reputation, but no...Moral of the story: Just say no to dead beat companies.

SOX is horrible. They do have a new lady in accounting (Shelly) that is if you can reach her or if she returns your telephone calls. Their paying habits are still awful. I still have not been paid for signings I completed in November 04. I have been faxing and calling and everytime the check is being mailed out. Everytime I get a call I tell them I am unable to complete an assignment for them because I have not been paid. My recommendation: Stay Away!
