Source of Title

QUERY: Do you find http://www.sourceoftitle.com to be worthwhile of membership.

I have joined and been pulling leads off of it since 6:30 this morning. The free membership has netted me notta, however, marketing is a PRO-active investment of time. That's what's been my focus this morning.

Brenda, I have been signed up with their free listing for over a year, I get the newsletter says my listing has had 3-4 hits a week, but other than the info I get off of it, I see no reason to join for $199.00.

I have been involved with the people at Source of Title since the site begn in march of 2001. I have met in person more than a handful of people from there who are regular posters on the forums. You will probably see my name all over there too. And you will also see information about NALTEA on the site too, for which I am a chairperson within the orginization for a committee.

I am an abstractor/examiner and a closer and have 2 companies. One which does searches and one which does closings. My search business has easily doubled from being part of SOT and since Robert started the subscription service and enhanced listings, business is even better.

I feel that the site is geared more toward abstractors and title companies. Which is why I also joined here as a notary. Though it is always good to register yourself in as many places as possibe to get your name out there.

But I will say that my notary business feeds off the search company I have and I haven't really seen alot come to my closing company from SOT. I get more closing calls being registered here than there.

Hope that helped.

Re: Source of Title - Charlotte/Shannon - thanks...

Yes, I agree that there is not going to be a better site than this one to get notary jobs from.

Re: But for inspections - and keeping up to date

Do you think that $199 would be worthwhile? I have seen in their newsletters where they offer both free and premium information/articles of interest if you want to do inspections. Yet, because I am currently not a premium member, I don't have access to read some of the articles that I would find most interesting.

So, under the assumption that the site is geared towards field inspectors, would the $199 then be worthwhile in your opinion?

**information/articles of interest if you want to do inspections. **

Mysti - I am going back to look at this, but I think it is abstracting related.

The subscription, I think is worthwhile for a serious person who wants to read some of the great articles on the site.

And, in order to reach others / learn about the business.

I don't know about inspections, though...did not know that. Will look later and get back with you.

Re: But for inspections - and keeping up to date

Thanks. I am working on getting my act together and taking a home inspection course. I believe it was Margaret_FL that led me to that site so I think it will defintely be worthwhile in that reagards, but your answer will give me another perspective on what can be done there. I will probably plunk down my money.

Thank you,
Mysti

I pay the $199 a year fee and I have gotten at least 3 new clients because of this listing.
I have made up for that $199 fee 10 times by joining. I would be going to Virginia Beach this weekend for the conference if my daughter wasn't graduating from elementary school on Friday.

There is no category there for inspectors. You would be listed as an 'other'
The best thing I can say for you is this, do not get the subscription if you are not an abstractor or lender or title company. The articles probably are not going to be as useful to you.
BUT, I would get an enhanced listing instead. And it doesn't cost as much.
Anyone who goes on the site to look up a person will ONLY be able to see contact info for those who have an enhanced listing. Those people who do not have an enhanced listed will not have their contact information shown.
If you have a subscription, you can get everyone's contact info even if they do not have an enhanced listing.

Did that makes sence?

Yes, it makes sense. Thank you. I have always hated not being able to read the articles, though.
