laser printer paper?

Is it necessary to use the paper specifically for laser printers? I've been having trouble finding legal size laser paper in decent quantity. I've been buying individual packs of HP paper, and after a 250 page signing tonight that used half that pack, I'm looking for a better alternative!

*disclaimer: Apologies if this has been discussed to death, and I've missed the threads in my search. I'll do the proper penance, I promise.

I use normal, run of the mill copy paper from office depot or staples. At first, I used high quality 'laser' paper thinking that the quality of the paper bond would be important to the lender/borrower. The lenders don't seem to care what quality I use, but I still have this thing to put the grant deeds on high quality paper - it's a document they'll keep.

Thanks for the input!

It would be so much easier to buy in bulk...no more trendy label paper for my printer from now on. It's like going from Starbucks to Folgers!

odd paper related story:

At tonight's signing (which was a resign) the borrowers were so pleased that my docs were "so clear and easy to read".
Um. Thanks? :-)

They proceeded to tell me that their previous notary had *all* the docs printed on 'the shorter paper', not the 'long paper' you're using for most of these docs. So, everything was all scrunched up and almost unreadable.
They were also surprised and pleased that I was giving them their very own set of docs tonight...the previous notary told them that she would make copies for them later and mail them. Odd!

I know what you mean...it's nice to see them happy with good quality paper for their important documents - sounds dumb but it's a big deal for most people!

Missy, you can buy in your local Costco. A box of 5000 pages costs 24.94 legal size

Costco...good idea

I hadn't even thought to check there. That's a great price.

I get mine there, too. Can't beat it! They also have some good prices on toner cartridges, but they don't carry the high-capacity ones for my printer. Darn!

That really is a great price. A case at Staples and Office Depot runs about $33.

You can also check Staples, I use their brand copy paper, and buy it by the case, if you spend $50 or more, you might get free delivery even!
