Not too much. If they accepted your fee, it was fine.
IMO don't go lower.

Newbie,

Seems alright to me (that is if it wasn't Ameriquest).

Why not Ameriquest? They don't pay well?

Some of the agencies that typically book for Ameriquest like AMTS (A Multi-Travel Signing) and some others don't have the best payment record. Using the Orange search button to look up signing services is very useful, you can get all kinds of info on their practices and policies and payment record.

Ameriquest itself is a PAIN. Their loans are HUGE by comparison, they have a large number of notarizations required and about 6-7 different detailed forms for the borrower to fill out at the table in their own writing. This takes time...and if you get somebody that can't remember their prior information off the top of their head you can be there for a while. I don't know if I am slow or what but I do a straight re-fi in about 45 minutes and I can't get an Ameriquest signing down to under 2 hours for the life of me!

They also require a lot of faxbacks which can be a pain!

I charge $200.00 for an Ameriquest loan period... they can take it or leave it... sometimes they take it... sometimes they leave it.

Additonally... after that commercial came out for the company advertising less paperwork (I can't remember what company) borrowers have been more critical of the size. When I show up with a package the size of Cuba, they start to look pained.

Cuba?... Did AngelinaAZ say Cuba???

I love Cuba! It's beautiful. I was there with my son's high school football team a year and a half ago. The experience was unbelievable.

Oops... Sorry for digressing... I'll get back on topic.

I beg to differ, Ameriquest packages are not the size of Cuba, they are approximately the size of the state of Delaware.

45 min. to 1 hour

I always start with the HUD, then the note and once those are out of the way, the rest is just a matter of ploughing through it. After you've done 40 or 50 of them, they don't bother you any more than some of the docs from other lenders. With any of the loans that we do, the more you do and the more you get familiar with the docs, the quicker the signing will go. As far as the number of notarizations go, if you are put off by the number in an Ameriquest package, there are several title companies that I can recommend that you might not want to do (25 - 30 pages of "junk" docs and almost all of them need notarizing).

Thanks for the info. I've never done a signing for Ameriquest before so, I was just curious. 2 hour signings ???? WOW.
