what to charge

I received an e-mail from someone in my area who needs a Copy Certification by Document Custodian form notarized. What should I charge him just to notarize his signature?

You need to read your notary public handbook for your state to find out what fees you are allowed to charge. Different states have different fees. Some states can only charge 50 cents a notarization, some, like Florida, can charge $10 per notarization. California can charge $10 per signature.
So, you need to read your Notary Public Handbook to find your state's allowable fees.

Re: what to charge - pS

Assuming that the nv in your name is for Nevada, then:

CURRENT FEES AS OF OCTOBER 1, 1999
For taking an acknowledgment, for the first signature of each signer $5.00
For each additional signer $2.50
For administering an oath or affirmation without a signature $2.50
For a certified copy $2.50
For a jurat, for each signature on the affidavit $5.00
(See NRS 240.100).

Doesn't look like the fees have changed since 1999 as this was on the Nevada SOS website for notaries.

Re: what to charge - pS

Thanks for the input, I am surprised the fees have stayed the same since 10/99. I will look into finding out if there has een any change in regard to the fees.
