A lot of you working out there
Congratulations on so many of you finding employment! Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on how "you" found your first job. Some hits on the profile on this website, but no calls.

Market yourself - Go the the Signing Services tab at the top of this page and sign up with as many signing companies, i.e. Vital Signings, etc. I have a database of around 140 signing companies, title companies, & lenders that have responded to my email, fax, call, web signup, or profile on Notary Rotary. It took a lot of work but you can start by signing up with 3 per day until you get consistent work. Actually, you should never stop marketing yourself. There are threads on this forum that you can read regarding this. Use the "search" tab or read past threads. Hope this helps.

Marketing- IS the Name of the Game!
Preliminary count - I have signed up with over 900 S/S and Title Companies now. Also mailed out over 100 letters with a resume enclosed. (Their are notaries I'm sure who have done thousands of contacts).
When ever I have time, or even in the middle of the night, I either go to new web sites and sign up- or if there is a fax number, then I fax my resume and info- and lastly- mail out info.
Personally- may I suggest that you do not rely on simply signing up with registries- (although that is important as well) but do as mentioned above- then before long- the calls start coming-and work evolves. After almost a year now- I'm still signing on with about 30 companies a week.
Of course it's important that you keep an accurate log of whom- and what date- and how-(mail- e-mail-signed up @ web site etc.) because once, it happened and I submitted my same data to a company twice- they let me know "that it was waisting their time, and please do not do it again- or they would remove me from their data dase."
Market- market- market! And when you have done all that--Then market - market and market some more.
Wish you the best, in your endeavors as a NSA- but it does take Time and Effort" to become an acheiver. (Oh, and generally it doesn't happen overnight).

I have done the same thing. I have a program called ACT. It is a contact software. After I sign up with a company I enter all their information into my program. I print out a weekly list and before I sign up with a company, I check to see if it is on my list.

To Margaret, where did you find ACT program?
I assume it is a computer program. Would love to have a tracking tool for my marketing. TIA Marla

I am experiencing the exact same thing! I have signed up with so many SS's, marketed myself up the ying-yang and no calls! I have become a premier member here, and no calls. I am located in Ventura County and I think that has something to do with it. Where are you located?

Surprisingly, I've only been certified for about 2 weeks and I already received two calls last week. They both found me on Signingagent.com.

Be Prepared at ALL Times
To begin my marketing I sent out a test of 10 letters. Thinking they wouldn't respond right away, I stayed up late continuing to study and download information, left my cellphone off, as the office number, website and email was in larger print on my letter; yet a week later found several calls and one voice message on my CELL that I MISSED. I called the voicemail person back and apologized to the secretary as the owner was "busy." I will never make that "unprepared" mistake again, plus no more late-night researching.

Curious why you think late-night researching isn't important any longer. I believe that researching any time -- day or night is important, as is constant marketing.

Of course I continue to work my fingers off, continuing to research and add to my knowledge base, however, no longer until 3:00 AM, making it quite difficult for me to start an early day...especially since I am "24/7."

Re: Be Prepared at ALL Times--To CarolynCO..P.S.
What I was trying to say is that I was working so diligently day and into the night on researching, building a website, stationery, forms, re-studying how to be an NSA and deciding what, to whom and how to Market, taking care of three little ones, life, etc., that when someone actually called...and it was early in the AM, my cellphone was turned off and truthfully, I was too exhausted to work. Pace yourself is my new mantra.
