A new low for GAC
Just went onto their web site. I am signed up in four counties. I have been discontinued in three of those counties because my fees were too high in comparison to other signing agents in my area. And in the fourth county, I am on crisis status and will be discontinued on the 8th of April. I called and spoke with Vendor Mgmt. In one county, I usually travel 75 miles one way and charge $175 for e-docs. In another, I travel 60 one-way with e-docs and charge $150. The other two counties I travel anywhere from 1-50 miles with e-docs and charge $150. I was told by Vendor Mgmt that the other signing agents charge $50, $75 and the $125 is at a 0 status and is probably almost never used. Gasoline is $2.50 a gal. plus all the other expenses one incurs, and he says he understands that. And I said, no, you don't, and these must be new agents, taking these kind of fees and you get what you pay for. I had submitted to the background check in order to get more work from them, and I wanted the $30 returned to me. He said he would speak with someone about that. Has this happened with anyone else? I just want to "spit".

Something similar. Work dropped off drasticly. Then all of a sudden i get a lot of resignings. Someone offered a lower fee and then did not do a good job. Hopefully they will realize that it is better to pay ones and get the job done properly. Good luck!

Erna...have you read "White Oleander?" Could not help but ask since I am reading it the second time through and this is a line similar to one in that book.

I knew that Vikings are your forefathers. It was the reason I asked.

Brenda,
So I take it you remember that in a much prior post Erna mentioned that she is from Iceland. And I believe she mentioned also that the Icelandic language is essentially the language of the Vikings.

Exactly...that's what I made note of it for. In W.O. the women frequently refer to the Vikings and their hardiness.
