Anyone had this happen . . .
after you have printed out the documents, the title company calls and says they need to send you new documents. What fee would you charge for printing two sets of new documents, or would it be all inclusive?
Thanks for the input.

I charge my normal e-doc fee for both the first and second sets.

Re: Anyone had this happen . .redo docs
Your fee is to receive one set of docs and print 2 copies. If there's a redo, they redo the fee.

Re: Anyone had this happen . .redo docs
I took an e-doc assignment and printed the documents. I was still waiting for the HUD and a few miscellaneous documents. I then got a call saying that they needed to send new documents to me. I informed the title company that I had already printed the documents, and was just waiting for the HUD, etc. My e-doc fee is $25, and I was told that they would only pay $10 for me to reprint the documents. Needless to say, I was furious -- to have to reprint the documents again, because it is not just the paper, but there's my time and toner involved here, as well.
I was just wondering how others would have handled this. Thanks.

I would have very politely said "NO".
This is your business- please don't let the S/S run you by remote control. You set your fee - and if the e-doc fee is $25 tell them so- if they say $10, you say NO - $25- If they say they"ll call back if it's approved- they most likely won't- so you move on.
Thats just my point of view of course. But remember who they were that did this to you, so they don't "Pull the wool over your eyes, again". They would be on my Avoid List so fast- that I wouldn't even have to remember who they were.
Sorry this happened to you.
Were they a First Time S/S company ? Or a repeat outfit? Reason I ask, because if it was one of my regular , faithfull clients, then I personally may go the second mile. But for a first timer? Nope!

I usually charge about $150 to close using edocs. I hate them, they are time consuming and half the time they don't come out as nice. When I have had a redo I charge an extra $50.

If this happens to me I would charge them $50.00 just for printing all of those docs

This was a repeat client, a title company, no doubt. I really thought it was a slap in the fact especially since they had sent me the docs and I was just waiting for the HUD and a few miscellaneous documents.
I learned a lesson, and that is to stick to your fees, and if it means their getting another notary, then so be it. Either way, they will have to pay. I just felt since I had already printed out the documents, apparently there was a mistake on their part, and they should have been willing to pay the extra fee. But this was a learning experience for me, and that is to stick to my fees.
Thanks for all the responses.

A Title Co willing to pay you just $35 for two sets of docs? I'd move on. You know you can charge more than $25 for edcos and Title Cos, in my experience, do not have a problem with paying it.
Edocs take time, time = money, how much are you worth an hour? Sit down, think about it and create a fee list. Then, SET IT AND FORGET IT! Edoc fee - $XX per document set. PERIOD!
