Re: Companies on the No No List - oops I hit the wrong key
why are those companies on the NO-NO list. Is it because they dont pay, or by the time they do pay its not worth the hassle?

Re: Companies on the No No List - oops I hit the wrong key
Yes, for both of those reasons. I have no personal experience with any of them, it is just info from this board from those who have had dealings with them. I prefer not to even apply with them as I just don't need the headache and it seems there are many other good companies to deal with. Interesting author name by the way. Does it refer to hooka?

This is not useful information. Please don't post if you don't have personal experience to back it up.

Re: ColleenCA said "I have no personal experience with any...
Excuse me, but the purpose of posting the list was based on experience of others on this board that have dealt with these companies and warn all who visit here about them. As I said in a prior post, it is up to each individual to decide if they want to deal with them or not. I don't have to have personal experience to take the valuable advice of others and make the decision to not work with those companies. I thought it would be useful for others to have a specific list to go to rather then searching through many threads to find the info. Also, this is a public forum, and I'll post when I want to.

Keep in mind...
That one person's trash company may well be someone else's treasure. There are MANY reasons why a particular individual may have an issue with a ss, but that doesn't mean they are a bad company for anyone else. Personally, from your list I've done several for Seaview with no problems; now, will you put them on a "yes-yes list", along with Lacy's that was mentioned by another poster as being fine for them? If you're going to glean negative company information from postings, then at least do a search and see if there are some positive ones as well before you label any company as a "no-no".
There are several of these lists floating around the board; the best list is the one that YOU compile on the basis of your own experiences.

Re: Keep in mind...Exactly
And that is why I did research these companies, found more bad then good and chose for myself to put them on a no no list. The list is just a convienent way for others to decide for themselves. Take a look at the prior thread on Sign On The X. That was why I posted the list.

Re: Keep in mind...Agree with Roger...
I have seen many companies on "no-no" lists while they are on my "yes-yes" list. I have always taken on companies and formed my own opinion of how they treat ME.
***I personally feel that, and this may be out of the park, how one is treated is often a result of how one is to others. Many companies on the "no-no" list have treated me in an extremely positive way, with great respect.

Thats great to hear that you have had positive experiences with some of these companies. I hesitate to put myself in front of a moving train and have taken the negative over the positive on these particular companies. I have chosen to apply with the best of the best rather then take a chance. If I continue to read further posts that any of these companies have improved then I will apply with them.

.Agree with Roger..and Stephanie.
As I see here.many NSAs Seem to have an attitude where they assume that they will be mistreated, and anticipate the mistreatment by mistreating the ss/titco personnel The sqeakly wheel sometimes gets the grease after the quiet wheels I am not advocating being a doormat, but if you treat people as though you believe that they will cheat you, then then they might just meet your expectations. You have a 100% chance of not being paid for a job that you turn down because, you think that you may have a problem getting paid, especially if that knowledge is based on what some unknown person said on a board. I have made a whole bunch of money over the years, working for cos that have "bad reps" I have my own no=no list based on my own experience and that of certain fellow NSAs whose judgement I have grown to trust.

Re: Keep in mind...
I agree wholeheartedly! I took an assignment from a Title company on someone's "no no" list and I got paid well and paid within two weeks. Not only that, but they called again and gave me another assignment which also paid well and within two weeks. Just like you said, "one person's trash company may well be someone else's treasure"!

Colleen, I appreciate your stand. (And I'll no doubt get hate mail for it! Right, Cali??) It's common that we have very different experiences with the same companies for a number of reasons. And I, for one, hope you continue to post your experiences to share with us. We aren't all rude, combative or flaming loonies. Many of us come to this board to learn and share experiences without the crappy attitude. Don't let them run you off. You take care. Remember your Kevlar!

Re: Without personal experience, you are taking at ...
face value what you've read.
*I have no personal experience with any of them*
This is the exact reason why I'm against no-no lists. As I've always said, there are any number of reasons why a SS appears on a list. You are posting your own no-no list, that in your own words you have no personal experience with any of the companies. There is nothing wrong with creating your own no-no lists for your own benefit, but to post such list without having any actual or personal knowledge of the companies, goes back to not believing what you read, hear or see. I can't remember the exact saying, but it's something like not believing anything you hear, only half of what you read, and I can't remember about the seeing part.
If you want to post about your own experience with a company, then I say go for it.

In addition...
I am glad to see A-MTS (AMTS) on your list...definitely a no, no.
Also South Coast Signings (Diana Bey) She contacted several notaries including me and after the signing...she probably died because she was never heard from again, although there was a rumor that she filed for bankruptcy (after she pocketed the money, that is!).

To clear matters up...
these are based on my personal experience with these SS. I would never post anything as a NO-NO unless I have experienced something bad with them. AMTS took four months to pay a couple of my invoices and another one took over six months....all these times, my emails and phone calls were ignored. It took me calling the loan officer to get paid by them.
Several other notaries have the same experience with them. Visit and search GMN board and you will know.
