Free tax program

There is a free program you can use to do your income taxes.

I just used it and it's great. You can get it at www.FreeTaxAct.com
I heard about it on Kim Komando's radio show.

You download the program onto your computer for free.

They don't ask for a credit card number. There's no purchase-and-rebate. None of that.

TaxAct is a lot like TurboTax but simpler. You answer simple questions and TaxAct pops the information into the correct boxes on the correct forms. Plus it does the arithmetic and tax calculations for you.

Their Deluxe version might be closer to TurboTax's more in-depth question and answer format. I think the upgrade to Deluxe costs around $13.

To use TaxAct, you DO need to know what you are doing, especially if you are depreciating your computer equipment or car. If you are good at filling out your own tax forms, TaxAct would probably work great for you.

Good luck!

Its just as easy to go to IRS.GOV and do your taxes on-line and e-file them for free, there are many different programs available and are easy to read and follow. I have used about three different programs this year and found them all ealy to follow.
