Mileage question

Does anyone out there think that it is out of line to ask $100 to drive 60 miles for signing? The docs are sent overnight, not e-mail. I've never had problems with my fees in the past and have been turned down by three companies this week for signings because they say they will only pay $75 at the most. TIA

Some quick math.

120 miles - cost min of .25 out of pocket/mile. (goverment says >.40) - $30.00
travel time 2 1/2 hours
signing 1/2 hour
prep to return 1/2 hour

income after car expense if $75 $45
rate per hour (45/3) $15

Take out taxes, overhead, etc and get your actual $/hr. (change times as necessary)
Once you do this, determine
1. will I work for that return?
2. under what circumstance will I work for that rate (exceptions to #1).

Is that one way or round trip? I use $1.25 per mile to calculate my fees. If it's round trip I'd say that you're on the high side. If it's one way I'd say you'd be screwing yourself to do it for only $100.
