Hi all,
I was at a signing last night : a couple, apparently three kids, and two cats (at least so I was told). Never did see one of the cats but the other cat, well that was another story. This cute little cat was just all over me: behind me on the back of the chair, rubbing up against my legs, and in my lap. Well towards the end of the signing the wife enlightens me that this cat is in heat or maybe just coming out of heat (and presumably that is why it was so affectionate). I mean I do have some hair on my body, but my goodness I sure wasn't a reject from one of those Planet of the Apes films. I just don't see how by any stretch of the imagination I bore any resemblance to a male cat. Anyway, luckily I do like cats, so it was not really a bad experience.

I have several cats and they seem to know if a person likes cats. They are all over that person, and my cats are fixed.

Cute story Ted - Thankfully it wasn't me in your situation - I'm very allergic to cats. Besides I'm a Dog Lover, but not a cat hater 
When I have a closing in a house of someone that has cats I always tell them that I'm allergic and will have to make this a quickly as possible otherwise the inhaler needs to come out.....

I have potential good news for you. I imagine I am a lot older than you are. Many, many years ago I used to be incredibly allergic to cats. If I touched a cat with my hands and then got my hands close to my eyes, my eyes would just go nuts - watering and tearing, etc. But lo and behold over the course of the years I guess I just grew out of it. Man, I tell you I used to take all sorts of shots - not just for cats, but other things as well as I had all sorts of allergies, but I haven't had a shot in years. So maybe there is hope for you.
