Re: best line I ever heard......

hi all,

Drove out to a HELOC signing this afternoon. I was ushered into the dining room where there was a long table. I am about to position myself at one end of this long table. The husband and wife are seated to my left. Their daughter (who it turned out was seven) has taken a seat directly across from me at the other end of the table. Out of the blue, the husband turns to their daughter and says "honey, this is the gentleman from the adoption agency". I tell you I could not stop laughing. This actually happened; I kid you not. Not a figment of an over-active imagination.

As an aside, the wife was drop-dead gorgeous!! I would imagine that if she were divorced Hugh would dispense with the trust fund and liquor store requirements. The bass boat, I don't know though; I suppose that is a bit of a reach.l You know how those good ole Texas boys are.......

Give your kids a hug......

That is funny Ted. But something has been bothering me since last week and I found it difficult (but I did) to let out a smile after reading your post. A gal I work with told me that she was taking a day off because she had mediation meeting with her regarding their children. Naturally I thought they were fighting for custody but little did I know that they were fighting over who DOESN'T get the two little girls on Sundays.

Ex didn't want to keep the girls (2yr & 6yr olds) on Sunday nights because it was inconvenient to take them to school and sitter on Monday morning. Doesn't want to be late for work. My co-worker works on Saturdays and would like her Sundays "off".

I've just been feeling sick to my stomach since then.

Re: Give your kids a hug......

Hi fi,

That indeed is a very sad situation!! I am sure the little girl realized that her father was just kidding.

I must say I think I missed something. You said that a woman you work with had a meeting "with her" and then you talk about an ex. So who is the "her"?

Also a suggestion - you might want to separate the KS part so that people know you are from Kansas. I know but other people might not.

Re: Give your kids a hug......

Sorry....I meant to say she had a mediation meeting with her "Ex and their lawyers/mediators." I realize the father and the little girl in your story had a family joke going there. But I couldn't help being reminded of my co-worker's senseless attitude toward her children.

Probably not. I've had it with being married to good-looking women. The lying I could take. The cheating was painful, but survivable, after I'd had the opportunity to pee in the boyfriends' beer once or twice. But when they think they're too good-looking to swab my toilets, that's going too far. My mental picture of the first female president is of her holding a red button in her left hand and a toilet brush in the right.
