Setting default paper tray for HP 1320TN

Hello -- PAW?
Need help from anyone with setting my default paper trays. I have the HP set for tray 1 (top tray) at letter and tray 2 (bottom tray) at legal size. Yet everything I print comes out of the legal. Even when I double check my print preferences before printing, I still get legal paper out and not the letter size. Any ideas?

What application are you printing from? Word, Adobe Reader, Word(im)Perfect, notepad????

If using Adobe, be sure to check the select source by PDF paper size.

Download (http://www.pawnotary.com/documents/testfeed.pdf), do not run with the PDF Plug-In. Right click on the link and "save as" to your hard drive. Then print it using your Reader. It should print three pages, 1&3 on legal and page 2 on letter, if everything is set up correctly.

On the 1320TN tray1= the manual feed & envelop slot.
The 1st "real" tray is #2 and the bottom=#3
Try setting this way and you should be good to go.
