Strange Emails
Wondering if anyone has received any strange requests in their email. I have received two so far and they ask if you can act as a next of kin or if you can represent someone who is imprisoned and take their money and deposit it into an account in the US. These are supposedly from Nigeria. No doubt its some kind of scam, just curious to see if anybody else is getting these. They are most certainly strange.

I got my first one a couple of years ago...(I know, overkill) but, I called the FBI. Said they were very aware and that it was a scam.

Re: Reply?
I get about 2 a month. Can they actually think people are that gullible to reply to them?

Re: Reply?
I work for an attorney and we had someone call him once to help them with this sort of thing. They thought it was for real and was seeking his advice on how to handle it. The attorney had never heard of the scam. I filled him in on it.

Fun website for these scammers getting scammed.
The Nigerian scammers have been around for quite a while. There's a HILARIOUS website at www.ebolamonkeyman.com where the scammers themselves get scammed.

NIGERIA
This is a major scam. Not only do they approach people like us, but individuals. They love chat lines. My sister was just talking to one on the internet. All of a sudden she was receiving packages. They wanted her to send them to Nigeria. When she said she wouldn't, they threatened to kill her. She was really scared. They got our address just from being logged in on the computer. Someone else I know was talking to a "pen pal" and the same thing happend to him. Warn everyone you know.

Thanks for the info so I can pass it along to friends and family who might be more vulnerable to this kind of stuff. Scary. Did your sister report it? What a world we live in.

The Postal Inspector was notified. She kept getting pkgs for a long time. Just remember, that if you haven't ordered something, reject it don't open it. UPS, FedX will let you reject a package, and of course you can return to sender with the post office. They would actually send her prepaid labels across the email to be put on the pkgs. These of course are purchased with stolen credit cards. They continued to threaten her for several weeks.
