# of signings in a month

For you full timers out there. What is the average number of signings in a month that you do. In the last 7 months I have increased anywhere from 82% to 165% per month. I am trying to figure out if I am capped out or should I expect more. The month of March brought 114 signings.

My first year........... probably 10 signings a month

Second Year........... On average 90 signings a month

2.5-Present............ Approx. 110 a month

This only reflects signings from SS/title comapnies. Does not include the free basic notary work I do for my home town, and local areas.

Your doing great! If you can handle more keep it going! The most I have closed in a month was 74. It was about all I could or would want to handle!

I do this PT and average about 10 a month - last month was very hectic. This month was slow for me. Even EOM was very slow.

I am still fairly new to this and have done approximately 15 signings so far. What I was wondering was what did you do to build up your cliental so well? I have applied with several signing companies and I know it only takes time but if there is anything that I can do to build it up quicker any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I was told they have a hard time finding good notaries here in NV and once they find one they stick with them. There is no test or education requirements. You buy a bond and mail your $35 to the SOS. The notaries here basically do not know what they are doing most of the time. I was a CA notary first. I am sure there are some good Notaries, I do not want to hurt any feelings, this is just what the SS & Title Co's have told me.

I have been asked by many signing co. to back date docs, change dates, notarize names without proper id. Go to signings in the the middle of the night for fees which I felt were insulting I guess you are lucky you came to Nevada where even you can succeed. I have also been told by other notaries who know you that you should spend some of your great wealth on clothes. The word out there is you dress in wrinkled rags if not at least invest in an iron.

If you are talking about me, you are wrong. #1 I do not know any other notaries in NV #2 I dress very professionally. I must assume you are mixing me up with someone else. #3 I also have been asked to back date docs, change names and notarize without proper ID, I turn those jobs down.

There was no need for your reply unless you are jealous of the number of signings I get.

I only do signings part time and usually average anywhere from 20 to 40 per month. You have to be agressive in this business and advertise yourself, make phone calls etc.

This month I did 28 signings and grossed over $4k. I am full time but there are days when no work is coming in. its usually the last 2 weeks that stay busy. last week I grossed over2k that made up half my month.

Looking to get more business I have been full time just over a year.

Re: # of signings in a month part-time Person here

I have done over 15 signings so far and I am part-time. I cap myself at 10 signings a month so the extra 5 was me bending over backwards for a friend who just became an escrow officer. I just turned down 2 assignments today and referred 2 assignments yesterday to a fellow notary friend of mine. With me being anal retentive, I review each form and my average siging time is 1.5 hours. I like to make sure the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed.

114? Dang, that's quite a workload. This has been my busiest month ever and I have 75 signings so far. I don't think I would want to have squeezed in another 29 appointments, although I do like the idea of an $8,000 month.

I am wondering how far you travel @ 114 closings a month even 75 closings. The most I have done in a day is 5 in 5 different counties though. I couldn't imagine that everyday of the month. Are you closing in offices with the door revolving? That is cool......... I am part-time b/c of a baby maybe that is why i go crazy. lol How do you handle that many closings a month juggling companies (closing packages, corrected huds, change of location, returning packages, notarizing?)

I agree with you! I am new, so this is really my first full month. I am actually part time as well, since I have a full time job. However, my full time is very flexible and I work from home. Therefore, I can sometimes accept daytime work.

This month, including the one I did tonight (my first signing done in my car!!!) and the second loan I am doing tomorrow afternoon for the same borrower as tonight, I will have done 19. I am thrilled but exhausted. I also had to turn down 2 more (one for tonight and one for tomorrow morning).

My goal is to leave the company I work for, begin working for myself as a notary signing agent and as a placement counselor. But I have to make enough money to support my current standard of living. So, the amounts you guys are making seems like it would work for me, too.

You give me hope! LOLOLOL

I have lived in NV many years. Most people who come into this state are (winners) including the gamblers. If you were to believe them all you would believe that the casinos were non profit organizations. They usually go back where they came from broke with lots of great stories to tell.

I travel up to 40 miles one way and I have help, my husband prints, faxes back and ships. I just do signings. I work 7 days a week if I need to.

How do you do it?

114 signings at $100+ each = $11,400+. Good for you!!!

114 divided by 20 (four weeks, five days per week) = 5.7 signings per day.

How do you do it? If I do 5 per day, I need major extra sleep.

If I were you, I would be happy with 114 and look forward to slow summers and winters. Times for travel vacations!

You go, Girl!
