You might want to start with a Loan Signing Agent workshop.

Willie:

I took the NNA Signing course at the NNA Conference in San Diego back in 2002.
I felt is was extremely helpful in becoming familiar with the variety of loan docs that are/may be included in loan documents that you may encounter during a signing.
The information presented at the course was very helpful,
Many signing agents will be quick to disagree with me; this is just my opinion on how it helped me.
I try to use all resources available to me.
Stephanie

Re: loan signing documents

Willie,

You don't want to go around to "different banks and mortgage companies"; you want to start off with signing services. They are in essence middlemen. They will cut you a little bit of slack; banks and mortgage companies are looking for experienced notaries, as they really don't tolerate any screwups.

Check out the link up aobve as to signing services.

Re: loan signing documents

Hi Ted - I live in Shiawassee Cty and am looking to get into the business. I have started the process of becoming a certified notary and am signed up for a workshop on loan documents. I didn't see a link in your post for the signing services - could you reattach? Thanks!

Re: loan signing documents

Tamara,

The link is right at the top of the page entitled "Signing Services". As I recollect, you will have more complete access if you are a premier member. I think the collective feeling is that the cost (as I recollect like $39 bucks or $35 bucks) is well worth it for the increased exposure that it provides.

Best of luck to you.
