something to laugh about

The phone rang this morning at 6:00. Some car dealer out of CA wanting to deliver and complete car sale in NV. This guy got all upset when my husband told him it would be over an hour(which I thought was crazy to offer). He wanted it in 20minutes. Now, we are just UPS Store owners, we haven't actually got into being signing agents yet. He was upset when he was told an hour. Our stores don't open till 9:00am. He didn't even applogise for calling so early. Is this a common experience if I advertise as a mobile notary in the yellow pages? Even if it is, I still can't wait untill the sale of our stores go through and I can have the time to start being a signing agent.

My phone starts ringing about 7:30 - 8 am my time. I try to make it up by 5:30 each morning so I can be a little bit awake for conducting business.

I used to stay up late all the time, but now I realize I have to get up early because my business has picked up this year. I hate to sound like I am a slurring drunk when the phone rings and that's what happens if I don't get up and get myself awake and ready to roll early.

To new folks in the biz, I'd say if you can hang in there for a year, things will start to happen. This has been my experience.

I'm up by 6:00 every morning -- weekends included. That's the time the dog gets up, and if she's up, everyone's up. I've had signing calls as early as 7:00 a.m., and one came from California, so it was 6:00 a.m. their time.

I got a call at 1:45 am for a 9:00 signing. Fortunately, my daughter was up and wailing for formula at that time. I think I was on mommy mode and slurred just a little bit, but the ss (I didn't even think they stayed up that late) didn't mind.

I do miss those 2 a.m. feedings for my grandson. Most serene moments of my entire life.

Re: something to laugh about - To BrendaTX

It's good to hear that if we hang in for a year, things should start to happen, because absoutely nothing is happening now! It's good to hear kind words of experience and I can only hope this happens for me.
