Yes, emails, phone calls, etc. She doesn't seem to understand that I don't want to spend $49.00 to be in their database for signings.

Turned down a call for last Saturday, she said we did not need to sign up. When I got done reading all the clauses and deductions I felt it was not worth my time for the rate.
Also they lied about the job - said it was a 10 page app, it turned out to be a complete package minus the HUD's.

I received a call last Monday evening around 5:30 for an EMERGENCY signing. I've never signed up with them. I told him that I was unavailable. Again he tells me that it's an emergency and what time can I do the signing? H-E-L-L-O -- what part of unavailable do you not understand -- I'm going to a dinner engagement and will NOT be available any part of this evening for your emergency signing. He was very put out with me because I wouldn't give in and jump through his hoops.

Yep...they are hitting up a bunch of the newer ones...
and it's my personal opinion that paying to get work is not exactly the way to go.

Re: Yep...they are hitting up a bunch of the newer ones...
I admit, I must have been one of the green ones they hit up. When I first started as a notary they were my first signing. I did all according to instructions and was never charged any sort of sign-up fee. Looking back, my fee was just a little low (not way off), but my first try was $100 and the check came in 16 days
Though I would not do the exact same transaction for that fee, I feel like it was mutually beneficial, no regrets here. I got my feet wet and they got a bargain signing. Touche'
