Borrower, another notary

I had a signing last night. Mrs license didn't match documents. I advixed her of such.
She tells me, "OH, they don't have to match, I'm a notary, too". I told her, "yes they do. The driver's license can have more, but not less than the document that you are notarizing."
Then she says "will a passport work?" Now I'm relieved, "sure". She goes and gets it. It is in her maiden name. I then point this out to her. "Oh, how about a military ID", one more time. This one matched. Few more days it will expire.

Since she mentioned she was a notary, after this mess I couldn't help but ask where she was a notary. "I'm not working as one now, but I worked in a mortgage office" .

Scary - she was notary in a mortgage office and the ID doesn't have to match....

I wonder what company has the policy that anyone can sign another person's docs?!?

Then again - it does explain somethings that I have seen at some Mortgage companies Smiley
