End of Month

Why is it that the lenders wait until the last day to do their work? I had three closing set for today. Turned down two in the time period that the first was to occur. The first one was re-scheduled for later in the afternoon. Again turned down a couple for THAT time. Now that one was changed to two hours later, which puts it too close to another closing, so I had to call them back and tell them I can't do it until after 10:00 tonight so they will have to find another notary if the borrowers can't do it that late.

So now, I am out all of my closings for this morning and this afternoon and probably won't be doing the one originally scheduled. Had a possiblity of five (all last minute). None can re-schedule for tomorrow. Don't the lenders realize that we notaries have schedules to keep, also?

Just venting. Hope you all make lots of money today!

Re: End of Month- I agree

I constantly turn down signings because others are scheduled and then those cancel. It is extremely frustrating. I don't know what the answer is other then charging a cancellation fee, but that is probably not going to happen as all notaries would have to do it to make it industry wide. Believe me, I feel your pain!

I had one of those days too. Had one rescheduled from last Friday for today at 4:00 and another one right after it at 6:00 in the same town. The one at 6:00 was rescheduled for tomorrow at 6:00 and the one which was originally scheduled for last Friday and rescheduled for today at 4:00 cancelled because the borrower did not have any ID and I had just received a call before that one cancelled to do one which I had to turn down because I was booked so now I lost that one too. Both were through NREIS. I even talked to the borrower the other day and told him I'd need a copy of his photo driver's license and he said that would be no problem and apparently he didn't have it. I guess NREIS or the lender called him to verify. Thank god because that would have been an hour drive. Thank god for IREP. They got me one so I'm not totally without any signings tonight which is good for me. I work a FT job and usually do them right after work. I've been out every night this week so far and another one to go tomorrow.

What a crazy day!!!! Thank goodness for a 3 day weekend coming up.

Here's my sob story. I have two scheduled for today, but I can certainly squeeze in a few more. Yesterday I was in a building and my phone didn't ring, but my phone went off indicating I had voice mail. I retrieved message and called back (all of 5 minutes) and closing was given to someone else.

Received two more calls last night, all for closings about 1 1/2 - 2 hours away! Today I missed answering my phone, called back 2 MINUTES later, loan assigned to someone else!

UGH! Moral of story, ALWAYS answer your phone!

I accepted a signing while on the tram between the parking lot and Disneyland. You just never know when it's going to ring - that is what I like about our career.

I let two go to voicemail this morning on purpose! I was in my daughter's choir recital, watching her perform...that takes priority! :-)
