Here's a range to consider. eDocs - $25 to $50 Overnight - $75 - $150 Fax doc - $25 - $40
I think the thing that has surprised me the most is when I quote low, the person on the other end of the line goes slight and then they up the fee that I requested. I'm learning to ask for more and then (if need be) go down. The first couple of phone calls I received I was afraid to ask for a fee because I kept reading how many of the SS are cheap and don't pay all that much. I was afraid if I was too high they'd hang up on me. Didn't happen. I was fortunate enough to get calls from places that were willing to pay higher fees.
Hope that helps some.

Thanks MaggieMae, now I can fill up an application. I didn't make any signings, I'm still at the stage of applications. Just curious, why the overnight fee is more expensive than the other ones, since we don't use any of our supplies. Since I didn't have any signings 'til now, are those charges on top of what we charge for notarizations when we go to borrower's house, especially when doc are overnight. And on top of that, for extra mileage? You can rate those questions as stupid ones, but I have to know. Thank you for your time

eDoc Fee is an extra when I quote someone
What I would do is say $125 for the signing and $25 for the eDocs.
Sorry... I can see where you were confused with my post.

what if the signing is $125 and you received the doc overnight?

That's the fee then... $125 for the signing if they overnight you the package... If they send the docs email then there is an extra charge. Think of it this way
Overnight = $125 (signing fee) eDoc = $150 (signing fee and printing)

My how everyone is different. I charge 75.00 overnight signing fee and if they do eDoc's I charge 75.00 for that. I hate getting eDoc's they are mostly a pain in the a@@. So if they really need to send eDocs then they will pay it. And look how it comes out to be the same in the end $150 (signing fee and printing)

**I didn't have any signings 'til now, are those charges on top of what we charge for notarizations when we go to borrower's house, especially when doc are overnight. And on top of that, for extra mileage?**
You should set your fee schedule with a BASIC signing fee -- which is for overnight docs and a certain radius, i.e., 15 miles RT, 20 miles RT, etc. Then you need to decide on an excess mileage rate for each mile over your base mileage. Next, you need to decide a charge for e-docs, i.e., printing 2 sets of docs. This e-doc fee will be added to your BASIC signing fee. You also want to consider if you are going to charge an excess faxback charge -- and if so, you will add this charge to your BASIC signing fee. You don't charge for individual notarizations -- this is included in your BASIC signing fee.
