JG Wentworth

I recceived a call this afternoon to notarize between 12-15 documents for an annuity transfer for tonight. He asked if I had a FedEx account and I told him that I was not paying to get the docs to him -- that JG Wentworth was paying for the shipping, so he gave me the account number. I took Wentworth's address and phone number, as well. He told me that he would e-mail confirmation, name, address and phone number. He also told me that I needed to fax my invoice made out in the woman's name (and not Wentworth's). He called me about an hour later and asked if I got the e-mail. I told him that I would not return home until about 6:00 p.m. I get home expecting two e-mails and the docs to print. Instead there were not two, there were not one -- in fact, there were NO e-mails. The poor woman is sitting at home waiting for me. I have a first name only -- no last name, no phone number and no address. I called Wentworth and left a voice message for the guy telling him that I received no docs and am unable to advise the woman I will not show up. Furthermore, with no e-mails, I did a search and find out what a lousy reputation they have, and that it is not uncommon to make the invoice out to an individual's name, and then fax to Wentworth. I say everything happens for a reason, and after reading how others have been ripped off by them, it's probably good that I got no docs or confirmation. However, I still feel bad that I am unable to contact the woman herself instead of just standing her up.

Carolyn
They called me a few months ago. I went out to the signers house, and he signed all the docs, there were 12 or 13 notarizations. I invoiced JG Wentworth.
Then about a week later they called wanting me to go out again, the guy had filled out some of the forms wrong. So, I went out again, and again invoiced JG Wentworth. I never got paid on any of the signings. They say the guy who signed owes the money!

I went back out again a couple of weeks ago to the same guy, this time through Peachtree Settlement. They told me to invoice them and they will make sure I get paid.

When I went out the signer said JG Wentworth screwed around with him, and he didn't trust them,he wasn't getting as much from Peachtree but he said he trusted them more than JG Wentworth. I mentioned I hadn't got paid from the other two times I went out and that JG Wentworth said he was responsible for paying me. He disagreed, and said JG Wentworth have to pay me.
I know I am not going to get paid on this, but I am going to send the invoices to them again with a demand letter.
And I would never agree to work with them again.

FYI I have found, personally, that Novation capital pays more than either one of them

Thank you, Carolyn and Sylvia, for warning me about this company.

I now know to say "click" when they call. That means no words, just the sound of my disconnecting their call.

Thanks Sylvia -- I had already read your earlier post about not getting paid from them. I have been in trial mode all week with one of my attorney clients, so when the guy called, I figured I could use the opportunity to wind down.

Now rewinding the phone call, the guy originally asked how much I charge for each notarization. I told him that Colorado allows $5.00, but for 15, I'd give him a break. Instead he turns around and tells me that he will pay $100 and then goes into the speech of making the invoice out to the person and faxing to JG Wentworth and not to include in the package. This was after him wanting me to use my own money to ship the package. He did finally give me an account number though. I just hope that if he did e-mail the docs that he entered the wrong address and that they got bounced back and not to someone's mailbox that will do something with the woman's identity.

I just feel bad about not being able to contact the woman. I haven't received any hate calls from her, so apparently she was not given my phone number either.

Sylvia I didn't know about their reputation and I did one for them on 4-6-05 now I know that I probably won't be paid either. After reading these posts I called JGW and got a guy named Ben and he said he would call me back after he talked with another guy I won't hold my breath for a call back but I will post if and when I ever get paid. But keep us posted on how you come out on this I surely do hope that you and I and all of the ones owed money will be paid. I am going to demand my money and I know that you will too.

I did a signing for them last month. It is too soon to get paid.

They had me run to a Fedex warehouse a couple of towns away to get package out by 830 pm.

I was sent a prepaid envelope though and, asked to enclose my invoice with package.

I hope I get paid.

Re: JG Wentworth-Revisted

I got a call for a trip to Cameron about 55 miles away. They were supposed to send me a confirmation of what I they would pay me. I quoted them a fee of $100 and they said that's fine.

No confirmation was sent ahead.

Then I did a looksy on NotRot and called them back to say I'd need fee ahead because a couple of my friends had not been paid on bills due 45-60 days. They said "How do you want your fee?" I said send me a check out today or I'd take a credit card. We cannot do that so if it won't work out that's fine. I said, thanks.

Hmmm. They never intend to pay the notary, apparently.

They want the people doing the settlement to pay you but they may not have their money for a few days and did not commit to pay the notary in the first place.

Not no, but heck no folks.
