Just turned down a $50 offer
From Secured Signings out of Tennessee.....claims that their not a ss but has only one client they work closely with and that's All American Abstract. Never heard of them, but I absolutely refuse to prostitute myself for 50 bucks !! Look for me to be flippin burgers at Mickey D's 1st.

yeah! you turned down a $50 signing appt. well just to inform you that when you turn those $50 down the signing service that called you will inform other signing services not to use you ever again. so yeah $50 dollars sucks but sometimes you have to eat your pride in order to get some more work. all the signing companys use the same websites to find there notary's and they talk too. just an FYI.

Luis: I've been doing this full time for many years and when the day comes that I have to accept migrant wages, I'll quit first. Please be my guest to all of the $50 closings your little pea pickin heart desires ;-)

It's not a matter of "pride" -
it's a matter of "how much is my time worth" or rather "how much am I worth." And I'm worth a lot more than $50. I guess you are not.
I seriously doubt that all 200, 300, 400+ signing services talk to one another and tell each other not use someone who turns down a $50 assignment. If so, the list would be long. It hasn't hurt me yet, I'm doing just fine.

Re: It's not a matter of "pride" -
well first of all $50 dollars is not so bad depending on how far you have to drive and 2nd how much you have to do. i work with first american signature services all the time they keep me really busy. those other signing services that pay $125 or $150 yeah the money is great but they ask you to bend over back words and they call me once or twice a mouth. signature serivces calls me every day and my schedule is always full with them. yeah it's $50 dollars but they make up for it qunaity Quantity. all i was saying is that most notaries talk like there time is more then $50 and that the NNA informs them they should not take any signing lower then $65 or $75 but most of them can't even get the loans closed right cause they mess up everything. and i bet both of you women are one of those people! sorry but the truth hurts!

Let up on Luis, ladies. Anybody who lives off $50 signings and is so proud of that he has to publicly proclaim it NEEDS to swing his cojones around sometimes, shriveled as they might be.

Re: It's not a matter of "pride" -
I'm very happy for you, trust me. If that's what you want to accept - FINE. We all set our own prices. But let me explain the difference to you. I do about 10-15 loans per week (that's all I want, I have two small children that I prefer to spend time with). At, let's say, $100 per signing, that's $1,000 - $1,500 per week...not bad for about 20-30 hours worth of work...
On the other hand, if I were Luis (a very manly man, I might add), I would only make $500-$750 per week (still maintaining my maximum 10-15 loans per week). Hmmm, I wasn't a math major in college, but I don't think this one is hard to figure out.

ok but do you make that every week or just at the end of the mouth when it gets busy? and if so what signing companys are you using cause girl i've worked for them all and none of them will call you all week long! so give me some names and i don't want to know them just so i can steel them from you just tell me what signing company that pays you that much. and just to give you a heads up i do about 30 signings a week for about the last 3 mouths full time!

Re: It's not a matter of "pride" -
Yes, I stay busy all month long, not just the last 2 weeks of the month. As a matter of fact, I was busier last week than this week. Sorry, but I won't give you the names of my contacts. However, I get most of my signings from 3 in-state (Florida) companies and one out-of-state company, and the rest comes from a slew of other nationwide companies.
And really, I don't care how many signings you do a month. It has no bearing on my life. But thanks for boasting. I'm sure everyone is impressed!

Re: And, by the way, Luis...your IP is showing!
I have one company that I will accept a $50 fee from. The loans are HELOCS with about 30-40 pages. The docs are sent directly to the borrowers home and I just show up and they sign the papers. I will only accept local (within my city) assignments. This company called today for a signing 90 minutes away, one way and no flexibility on the fee, no way I turned it down.

Re: It's not a matter of "pride" -
Luis I do not work for $50 companies either, although I did when I first started doing signings many moons ago. ($50 is not bad for someone starting out by the way)
I am averaging $1500.00 a week this month (not counting the income from my signing agency) , and it is not the end of the month yet. I am only doing about 10 signings a week, and turning down a lot of signing companies, so if I wanted to I could make more, but I reach a goal moneywise each week and then I pick and choose which signings I want to accept. I have never failed to reach my weekly goal yet! This is Wednesday, I have made as much as I want to this week, so I can afford to turn down signings if I want for the rest of the week, but if certain title companies call that I work with regularly, then I will accommodate them.
And no, I am not going to give you the names of the companies I work with.

Re: It's not a matter of "pride" - addendum
I will do $50 signings in my neighborhood for NFRES - these are very small packages (maybe 15 pages), only require one notarization, docs go to borrower, and when I get there they have already gone over anything and ready to sign. I am in and out in 15 minutes (would be less but need to check ID and have my journal signed)

Victoria,
I like your way of thinking and if there wasn't those out there like Luis (willing to accept the $50 signings), he'd be making more too...and spending less time doing it or better yet, increasing what he is making by charging more.

First American Signature Services
They call you every day? That's quite the feat since they switched to a web based, first come first served assignment system so they wouldn't have to call notaries anymore.

Since the tables have turned and you've been exposed, I'm sure that I'm not the only one anxiously waiting for you to eat some of your own pride and come clean with your charade. Additionally, as an employee of a SS, *exactly* how much do you make on each of our signings?
