Mentally Ill

I have a closing this evening and when i called to confirm the appt i am not sure if she is mentally stable by the way she was talking to me. I told her what time the appt was etc and she then went on to how she was at a support group because her husband died (in march) and he was mentally ill and they could not sign because of that but then she went on to tell me his life story.... anyway. Maybe she was on overload at the time of the call but does anyone have anyway of telling me what i need to ask or do I go with my gut if i think she does not understand what she is signing ...

If you have a serious doubt dont,t do it. I would ask some easy questions i.e. time of day , day, year. Her address. Her reason for signing the papers. What is she going to recieve or have to pay for what is involved.
A bad answer to any of these would indicate to me that there is a problem and I would not notarize anything connected wioth the woman

Good answer, Dave. This woman may be 'off' or may be having a bad day after a very bad year. Go, check it out... if in doubt, get out. And...don't believe the LO!
