Need to Vent!!! I am stunned! n/a
Last week I received a call to do a last minute signing from a new title company (called within 3 hours of signing). When I hadn't received a confirmation or e-docs, I called 3 times and left message on my contact's (let's call her Betty) voice mail. Never heard back from Betty so I assumed they gave it to someone else and was embarrassed to call me.
Yesterday I receive a call from Betty indicating that loan was going to close that night and would I still be interested. So I agreed and never asked why she hadn't called me back last week. So again, I'm waiting on e-docs and never receive. I call, leave a message and never hear back from anyone. I then go to my next scheduled appointment.
Today, I receive call from (let's say) Susan in the office asking why I didn't show up to closing last night. I advise her that I never received confirmation or docs. She said, "And you didn't think to call anyone?" So I said, "Yes, I called at 5:35 pm left a message on Betty's voice mail indicating that I needed docs by 6:15 in order to make appointment on time and never received a call back. Since last week "x" happened (explained what happened last week) I assumed this was the way your company does business." She says, "Oh. I'll have to talk to Betty" then I hear her yell "I'm taking to her now, Betty" and then hangs up on me!
I called back and now leave a message on Susan's voice mail telling her I was still talking to her when she hung up on me and that I was still available to do loan if she needed and I wanted to find out if Betty had received my message last night. Of course I don't expect to hear back from them.
So I'm checking my email after this incident this morning (I left early this morning and didn't check email before I left) and now I have two emails with the loan package from last night - however they show they were sent at 6:40 p.m. yesterday. Ugh! I'm sure Betty will say that I never called so it's her word against mine.
So that's my vent. I pride myself in doing an excellent job and get really annoyed when I get accused of not following through. It really sucks, too, because this was a title company and could have been a good source for me. Oh well. I guess I don't want to do business with a company that conducts themselves in that manner, anyway.
Gotta go... if there are typos above I apologize, but I have to run and don't have time to proof this message!

Wow! That's a stunner, all right! What is the name of the company, so that we can be careful?

That's terrible! I'm curious how they could send the docs with the date of the night before? I wouldn't think that someone could do that, the legalities of it could be terrible.

I bet that they did in fact send the docs last night,
however I still had not received them at 7:15 pm when I left for my 8:00 p.m. appointment (decided to arrive early and call it a night!). The email must have gotten tied up somewhere - it's happened before to me with this email account and many others over the years. In any event, don't you think with them sending the docs so late that they would have called me to advise that they were still coming? Even if I had received them at 6:40 p.m. I would have been at least 1/2 hour late to the appointment. Normally I would have tried calling them again, however with their track record the week before I assumed I was being burned again - which I guess in a way I was!

Re: EST or EDT ?? AOL time is EST
AOL time stamps when an e-mail is received with EST. So my e-mail stamped 6:40PM is EST, 7:40PM EDT and that's what my watch reads.

Ernest - you're so funny----
you always want to know the name of the company that someone is venting about! I'd rather not say because I feel that it's probably an isolated incidence and this is not a nationwide company so the majority of you won't be affected. It's a title company in Orlando, FL.

How is it the edocs were sent @ 6:40pm and were not received until this morning? Is it possible there is an ISP issue either on their end or your end? If you had checked your mail last night and found the docs there, would you have attended the closing?
This is a strange one, but really, there is no reason for them not to return your call.

You should be able to see the info on the path the email took to get to you. How depends on your ISP provider. It will show when it was sent and the different servers etc it passed thru on the way to you. May give you some idea of time sent.

Re: Need to Vent!!! checking time
Also, note if the time stamp put on by your e-mail provider uses standard or daylight time.

They may have arrived last night
but it would have been after 7:15 pm when I left for another appointment. I did not check my email again last night before I went to bed or this morning until around 10:30 a.m., so it arrived anytime from 7:15 p.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Oh my goodness, what an awful company to work for. Payment would have most likely been long in coming, consider yourself better off.

If they were trying to decieve you, they should have at
the very least listened to your voice message before they sent the package at 6:40,
" So I said, "Yes, I called at 5:35 pm left a message on Betty's voice mail indicating that I needed docs by 6:15 in order to make appointment on time and never received a call back.
According to your quote they were still some 25 minutes off on the deadline:-o

I just looked at their confirmation, it indicates to
call to confirm receipt of the loan package. I guess they should have followed up with me last night when I didn't call them telling them I received it!
Oh well, thanks for listening! It really helped to vent. This has had me rattled all morning.
