ServiceLink

DMOK
I attempted a signing from Service Link and agreed to a $90.00 fee. (This included e-doc fee)
I didn't have enough time to make copies at my office, so I went to Kinkos to make copies from email. I paid over $50.00 to print out the large package. At the signing table the client disagreed with the note which was adjustable. After calling the lender the client was told not to sign the documents......the lender said the wrong documents had been sent and would send them again. When notifying Service Link I was told that I would be paid a "trip fee". I explained the amount I had already invested and felt that I should at minimum be paid that much. She wouldn't commit to a price, so I'm wondering.....do you think Service Link should pay the agreed upon fee of $90.00? I'm thinking I will be fortunate to collect the money I paid for printing the edocs.
Thanks for your response.

Wow, I forward some of my email docs to kinkos and I have never paid $50. I usually print out 200 pages and it costs me $15. Now, if you print them out yourself from the self serve computers, you pay ALOT more, like 50 cents a page.
I quit doing closings for Service Link a long time ago. They are not worth my time and I do not accept "trip fees", ever.

Unless SL got you the docs late you can't really blame them for your having to go to Kinkos - Personally, I would not have invested $50 on loan docs - too much of a risk for me considering the number of no-signs I've run into - if I was running late I would have just rescheduled with the borrowers or gotten the OK from SL to use kinkos for an additional fee. Unfortnately in this case, I think you may have to consider it a lesson learned.

BTW - congrats on getting SL to agree to pay you $90 - they must have been desperate!

Yes, this is a valuable lesson. I never had used Kinkos before and was in such a rush that I didn't even ask if the docs could be printed another way. Thanks for your advice.

Strongly agree with Dogmonger!

The $50 issue is your problem because you did not have a laser printer. Suck it up and move on. Sorry.

Re: You need a printer

i think her issue was time, not lack of a printer or copier.

Just an update for anyone searching for information about Service Link. The fee of 90.00 was paid. I thought Service Link handled this in a very professional, courteous manner.
