Siranni (again) and Release of Slope Easement?
Hello,
(1) I have a signing to witness a Release of Easement, what exactly is that?
(2) I couldn't find the email and address of T. Siranni. What is it again? He owes me $225.00.
TIA

An easement is when part of ones land is allocated for use for other than your self. Utilities easement for instance, utilities companies must have access therefore you can not fence it off. Sometimes an easement is necessary for access to ones house if a planned road is not in place yet, and therefore will be lifted ones the road is in place. That is my understanding of a easement.

Re: Release of Slope Easement?
Also, easements are for a particular use. If there is a power line easement and the power company puts in a new power line in a different location and abandons the original , the easement can be released back to the property owner.

An easement is an interest in land of another; entitling the holder of the easement to limited use or enjoyment of the land in which the interest exists. An easement doesn't contemplate possession; rather it's all about "use".
If someone is releasing a slope easement they are probably using a quitclaim deed, which is the simplest way of relinquising the interest.

Re: Siranni (again) - New Fax #...
I called the number given a couple days back (earlier posting) and actually got a person (guy - not sure if it was him or not), and got a new fax number for faxing my invoice. To my surprise, the fax number actually worked. We'll see if I now receive payment. The new fax number is 516-797-5300. Hope it helps all who are owed by him. I'll keep you posted on if I receive payment.

Slope easement
This is an easement that allows a property owner to slope his land onto another's to support the development on his land, i.e., grade the land with a slope so as to keep it from eroding. Usually also involves maintenance of the slope by, for example, sodding. Sometimes by their terms slope easements are temporary during periods of construction when a retaining wall or other permanent supporting structure on one's own land is built.
